Reds

You drag me through
This short sweet life
I pull the smoke
From your inside
Your soft white flesh
Turns black then bright
The tar and ash
Escapes the light

And when my lungs
Fill up with you
I let you out
You pass me through
The harshness of
Your swift depart
Scalding my lungs
Constricts my heart

I breathe the air
So plain and cold
You swim through me
As I unfold
I press you down
Into the ground
A sense of peace
Is almost found
