Sonnet 1

For one more day to spend alone with you,
I'd spill my own cold blood out on the floor.
Would I do what most think they could not do?
To revisit those days where we got bored.

I'm no realist but loss can be unreal,
And I can't seem to leave it all to fate.
The afterlife-for me-holds no appeal;
The dark arts or science might show the way.

But I could lose much more than I would gain,
I'd tear apart the thinner threads of time.
Likely enduring some new kind of pain,
To tell you things that have been on my mind.

       I'd do it again, for every lost friend;
       All wounds have to heal... so why should lives end?

Just Two Kids

It hasn't been too much time since those long days of play in the sunshine.
The pitter-patter of your footsteps were never far behind.
I wonder what it would be like if we could stay those two tykes.
We would never grow up, no we'd never move on... for the rest of our lives.

Who could blame us?
Who would shame us?
Just to kids in love.

It's realy not so hard to believe that our lives would be so easy
If we just stayed young and dumb, And blissfully naive.
Sometimes I think I can go back there, to a life so simple and far from despair;
When every little problem blew away with the air and the last thing we'd ever do was care.

Who would blame us?
Who could shame us?
Just two kids in love.

But now life is always so busy
And no one ever seems to give me
A break, they just take,
And make things harder than they should be

But who should blame us?
Who would shame us?
Just two kids in love?
No one could budge us,
And they'd never judge us
If we were just two kids in love.
